Design challenge — The prompt was to create a Bauhaus-inspired poster for the Estonian National Opera House’s performance of Don Giovanni. One of the founding concepts of Bauhaus was to reject traditional expressionism of the upper class. Ironically, Mozart's opera is just the thing Bauhaus punks raged against — a baroque, emotion-fueled experience of a wealthy playboy. To unite these conflicting styles in imagery, I chose a masked Don Juan. All expression is concealed, yet we can immediately recognize this is for the opera.
